BFHS Announces New Shelter Plans!! At a media event (pictures below) on Wednesday, November 19, Ed Dawson announced plans to fund and build a new shelter and adoption center for the Benton Franklin Humane Society. The Tri-City Herald, KVEW-TV, KNDU-TV, and KONA-AM/FM shot video and pumped Ed for details on the building, where it will be, costs, and what the public can do to support the project. Speaking of support, the event also drew many BFHS Board members and friends of the shelter, such as Full Throttle Motorcycle Accessories, LeMaster-Daniels, former Board members, and others. Ed introduced the architect of the new shelter, Terry Thornhill.
With so many people crammed into the facility for the event, it was plain for all to see that the current shelter is woefully inadequate to support the Humane Society's mission.
