Caring for so many animals is not only rewarding and time-consuming, it is also quite expensive. Staff wages, salaries, and benefits, medical supplies, power and water, communication and other expenses are typical of a commercial enterprise of this size. Without the support of generous donors and committed volunteers, BFHS could not exist, much less, perform its stated mission.

***The shelter always needs clean used towels, dog and cat food, paper towels and especially cat litter (we use 50 lbs. of litter a day.) Bring pet care and food items to the shelter. The Wish List is posted on this site and on a board outside in front of the Shelter. Or, call us to find out what our current needs are.
