Who do I call?

For animal control issues in Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland, call Tri-City Animal Control at 545-3740.  Do NOT call 911 except in cases of significant danger to yourself or others where immediate response by armed law enforcement is deemed necessary.

Kennewick - see http://www.ci.kennewick.wa.us/Police/animal_control_info.asp.  The full text of the Kennewick Municipal Code as it pertains to animal control may be found at http://www.ci.kennewick.wa.us/City_Clerk/KMC/08-02.pdf.

Pasco - see http://www.pasco-wa.gov/Department/AnimalControl. The full text of the Pasco Municipal Code as it pertains to animal control may be found at http://www.pasco-wa.gov/WebApp/MunicipalCodesandOrdinances.  Click on "Title 08 Animals".

Richland - see http://www.ci.richland.wa.us/RICHLAND/police/index.cfm?PageNum=47. The full text of the Richland Municipal Code as it pertains to animal control may be found at http://www.ci.richland.wa.us/RICHLAND/Code/index2.cfm?FileName=/docs/1/docs/Title 7 -Animals.pdf.

Unincorporated areas of Benton and Franklin counties - call the sheriff for nuisance animals.  While there are no contracts between the counties and Animal Control, law enforcement officers do have limited authority and responsibility in the case of a truly dangerous animal, but are not responsible for strays.  BFHS does not have the resources to collect stray animals.  Please refrain from collecting strays and dumping them at either BFHS or TCAC shelters.  This is illegal and places the animals in danger of exposure, attack by other stray animals, and death or injury from vehicles.
