The Ridin' for Rover Poker Run for Homeless Pets, a Full Throttle Motorcycle Accessories and Desert Thunder event, was another success for the shelter. All proceeds, about $5000 at first count, plus a 'ton' of donated pet food and supplies, directly benefited BFHS. See the story on KNDU.com and here.
As if signing up for the ride wasn't enough, one lucky rider turned over his 50-50 winnings, about $350, to the shelter, adding it to the 50% already gained in the contest.
Not to be outdone, one lady adopted another "Lady", a long-term BFHS resident. Since her yard was not enclosed, several bikers volunteered to build her a fence, so "Lady" would have a new home.
